Nicole Campbell – St. Stephen School

We are excited for the opportunity that BGE is providing us at St. Stephen School. With the award money, our school would be able to enhance our curriculum, particularly in technology bringing us further into the 21st Century.
We would be able to purchase Google Chromebooks for student use. We currently share Chromebooks among several grade levels. Our need in technology is great. Teachers are able to incorporate technology into their classrooms, but with limited access and limited availability. With these computers, however, we are able to have students use Google Classroom, Docs, and Drive to research and compile information for class assignments. Students may also use Google Slides for presentations. With access to computers in every classroom, we also hope to move toward Tech books for science.
We updated our social studies curriculum this year. Many maps in the classrooms are outdated and worn. With additional financial help, we could purchase maps to support our new curriculum, especially in the area of geography.
Additionally, our school is limited in purchasing certain licenses for educational websites such as Brainpop. It would cost our school $2,000 for such a license. Our teachers use this technology to provide support while making learning fun.
Thank you for the opportunity to improve our school and to offer new possibilities for our students at St. Stephen School.
