We are eager to participate in the BGE Wires Down Video Challenge as we help promote safe practices among our students and others. Each year we look for opportunities to enhance our classrooms by using funding awarded through BGE’s contests. This year we would like to use any funding we receive to do three things:
First, we would like to create a mobile makerspace cart filled with materials that become hands on experiences for students to apply their knowledge to create STEM projects in the classroom. Our students are eager to use the knowledge they are learning in science and math by creating STEM projects that solidify concepts learned from curriculum. We would like to be able to provide them with needed materials to enrich the lessons they are learning.
Second, we would like to take a field trip to iFLY with our students where they will experience a STEM activity designed and run by STEM educators. They can create in an activity lab as they learn about velocity and mass.
Third, we would also like to continue sending our students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade to BizTown. Each year we spend months preparing students to apply for jobs, interview, and run the town for a day. The students learn about financial literacy and apply lessons they are learning in math.
Any support that BGE could give to us at Perry Hall Christian would be a blessing. Thank you for all you do to help educate children in the Baltimore area.
